About Kirsten

Hello there.

As you might have guessed, I'm Kirsten -- the one clicking away and posting photos here, this teensy, tiny, weensitudimus slice of the increasingly growing pie that is the internet.

I was born and raised in Washington state, the middle of three children of rather fabulously normal parents. I met my husband in southern California where we both attended the same private university ... but it took nearly nine years, a broken neck, and Facebook to bring us together again. Oooh, there's a story there(There's a lot of story there, in fact). So yeah ... it totally makes sense that the Washington girl who married the Kansas boy she met in California should now be living in where else but central Florida: home to sunshine, oranges, tropical storms, and most of the nation's worst drivers.

I have a BA in English Lit and by now, a veritable boatload of lessons under my belt from the school of life. In addition to writing, I love photography (duh!), cooking, and kicking my own hiney with various forms of physical exercise. I may or may not have actually shouted "I hate you!" while working out in my living room to a Jillian Michaels video. On the remotely minuscule "snowball's chance in hell" type of chance that she reads this one day, I hope she takes it as a compliment.

I'm a thirty-something mama to two -- hopefully a few more, someday. Sadly, you will never get to meet my first, except perhaps through our archives. Ewan died on October 4, 2010 when he was just 16 days old. Oooh, boy. That's another story altogether, too. You will be meeting his little sister Austen, though -- quite a lot, in fact. She (like her older brother) is incredibly cute. The camera cannot resist her, and until she can start running away from me (and/or until she stops being so cute I think I will die of an overdose of baby adorableness), there will be a lot of pictures of her.

So there you go. Nice to meet you, and I'm sure we will be getting to know one another better over the course of our acquaintance.

Let's get clicking!
